But that is totally incorrect and I'll reveal why in just a second. Another problem with providing value as an affiliate is that most affiliates try to be invisible to the end user. They feel as if the prospect should not know that they are making money by providing a product recommendation. But there is no reason to be shy! Many prospects will actually find it extremely refreshing to hear from you and to be told that you are making a commission when they buy, instead of having a vague idea and being unsure - as long as you provide some value as well. So this is an excellent intro to point out the value which you are providing them with! And getting this right is so important. I'll explain that in just a second. In the past, I have provided additional value to prospects with my affiliate promos by learning about a particular product before I promote it. What you're doing here is creating a PDF document for other interested people to read and consume. The reason you’re creating a PDF and not loading it up on a web page is that people are used to reading web page information for free. And because it’s free, they may feel like the info will always be there, and so they don’t pay a lot of attention to it. On the other hand, it is not uncommon for someone to have to pay good money to receive a PDF file filled with valuable information. So when someone sees your PDF file, they will naturally pay more attention to the content within it, as the content is delivered in a PDF format which is perceived as much more valuable. So that will help get the users attention right off the bat. For best results write a title with a hook to start off your document. For example, if you are writing reviews about a dog training product, a title with a hook would be something like: “If you're interested in having a well trained dog, don't do anything before you read this…” Do you see how that headline hooks in their user, and makes them want to read onwards? That's what your headline should do as well. You should also write a quick, intro paragraph, so that the user knows that your reviews are listed in order of the best programs first. So tell them that you have listed the products from best to worst etc, but they are the top 3 within your chosen area of interest (dog training, weight loss or whatever area you’ve chosen). Tell them they will not get scammed or ripped off if they stick to learning from ANY of your top researched options. * MAKE SURE THIS IS TRUE * Don’t write reviews of crappy products and say they are good, just so you can make a quick buck. It’ll give your reputation a beating, and doesn’t build trust. Better to be 100% genuine right from day 1. So make sure the info you are delivering in your ride along file is top quality, and that the programs you are recommending are top quality as well. You can find out if the products are top quality, by buying the product and seeing for yourself, or emailing and asking for a review copy, which still works for me on many occasions. If you can’t get a review copy, try and make a few sales of their product first, and then asking for a review copy (letting them know your affiliate ID, so they can see you have made sales already and you are for real, and not just a freebie seeker). Ok, so be sure to mention to your user that your product reviews are all of top quality products, and they will be safe when they use any of these products. What you’re doing is positioning your ride along PDF file as a top quality information document (there is more about positioning inside Affiliate Justice). Once you’ve told the user about the reviews, don’t say anything else, and let them get into reading the reviews, as quickly as possible. The reviews are making you the affiliate commissions, so don’t distract the user with an intro which is too long – get them to the reviews quickly. Example Review Of Mine: http://www.affiliatejustice.com/examples/ride-along-review.jpg In the picture of my example review above, you can see the blue links, which are all my Clickbank affiliate links for this particular eBay product. The website screen shot also has my affiliate link attached, and so if the user clicks on the screen shot, they will be taken to that very website via my affiliate link. This is what I mean when I say to give the user a lot of chances to click on your affiliate link. My affiliate link appears 4 times within that one review and it still seems natural – there is no overkill at all. This is what you should be aiming for, otherwise your ride along will look like a blatant promo and lose all credibility. Next, I have simply written a short three paragraph review about the product in question. You can see my review is a genuine product review, and is also impartial, and to the point. This is so that the user reads the information quickly and clicks through one of my affiliate links as early as possible. No need to stay stuck in a long review of mine when the user can instead be reading the product sales page and learning how the product will benefit them. You will also notice that I have added a score out of 10 for this particular product. You can also use a ‘number of stars out of five’ type method, or a rating out of 10 or 100, if you prefer. One thing to remember here is that after the product review, and the final score has been shown, you MUST add one final affiliate link to the product. Many times, you will find that this is the link that is clicked on the most, as it is natural to want to see the product page straight after finishing reading the review (so they can explore the product sales page for themselves etc). Ride along PDF file: Youe entire ride along pdf file should have around three to five reviews. These are the reviews, which are listed from best to worst, and it is also made clear to the user that all programmes do work extremely well. As I said earlier on, you can also add a catchy title and a short introductory paragraph before the reviews start, to hook the user into reading the entire document. One additional killer twist that you can add to your ride along offer, is if you add some real content from article websites or other information sources like that, underneath the reviews. This should be useful info related to the topic at hand i.e. add some weight loss info if you are reviewing weight loss products, etc. This will further educate the user and make your ride along offer into a viral file, because people will want to share this information with other people who are interested in this topic. That will translate into more money for you, because more people will see your ride along offer. Another way to get more people to see your ride along offer is that if you promote it properly.
